They are in the nightmare zones along the edges of the map in the Fade map that you get when you go to one of the pedestals. Once you complete the two zones that lead to a nightmare zone, you can go to the nightmare and help your teammate out and get them for the fight against sloth in the center.

What place has the best deal on Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition for the Xbox 360?

Was looking to purchase the ultimate edition as I played through just the stand alone game and loved it, but never saw the high priced dlc worth it. Where is the best place to buy this edition for the most reasonable price. Used or new, its no matter. What place has the best deal on Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition for the Xbox 360?
The best places I'd search would be the online sites of : Amazon, ebay, and half.com Have the items opened on all three and price them and see which would have the best price. I primarily use these three because they always have better prices than in stores.

So recently I've started a new game, a castless dwarf warrior. I wanted to know for a warrior what stats should I pay attention to and beef up and which ones I can neglect?

Before I played as a mage and put most of my attention on magic and got through the game fairly easy enough.Whats stats should I pump up in Dragon Age Origins for a warrior?
I remember playing it last year and I was a warrior too. I usually put most of my stats into Strength and the one state that increases hit points (think it was DEX but can't remember now).Whats stats should I pump up in Dragon Age Origins for a warrior?
Depends but if you go tank warrior end game on hardest difficulty still only vosses can kill you. I plated that my self insain how much dmg you can take. But dps warrior is good dmg on a single target and can crit insain on bosses and such. As for the stats for tank most endurance but with str that is not to far behind. Dps mostly str some willpoer and endurance for use of skill and hp for survival

Yeah you can take the pedestal. The burning man form just allows you to run through fire, which will be useful as certain points in the fade. Eventually, you're going to have to use all your forms to explore the entire area, and you'll likely visit some places more than once. After getting burning man form in dragon age origins do I take the fade pedestal or what do I do xbox 360?
You can physically do every one of the areas except the last one w/ just the rat form. Basically just clear all the levels aside the last one (Templar's revenge or something to that effect) - then go do the last one. You can go back through and use each form to get the stat bonuses, but they are not required by a long shot.

It never explicitly states how old the protagonist is, but it's usually implied it's very young. In Dragon Age: Origins, how old is the protagonist?
In the way characters interact with you and by the ages of your various family members it is implied that you are probably between 18-25. You can make a character look very old, but there will be a lot of immersion breaking moments if you do. For example having an older brother who's in his 30s during the human noble origin.

Usually, when a program that is not related to an internet browser needs to download something (EXLUCDING peer to peer programs like LimeWire and Utorrent), you have to download the entire thing in a single sitting (especially with full-screen games like this one), so I would suggest you restart the download next month when you aren't going to go over your bandwidth cap.

How Do I view my characterization classes in Dragon Age Origins?

I'm thinking you are saying that you unlocked the ability to become champion, arcane warrior etc. But you also have to choose which ones to activate on each charachter.

To do that you need to enter the "Level Up" screen. There will be a glowing + sign next to your characters portrait on the main play screen if you have points available to spend in the "Level Up" screen(s).

Once you click the glowing + you will see the specializations open to that char under his pic, along with the specialization points you have, to spend. You get two per char in the course of the game.

You activate one by simply clicking on it. If its greyed out , you cant learn it yet.

I prefer the one handed get a real life. What is the better weapon type for Dragon Age Origins: one-handed and shield or two handed weapons?
Two-hand damage output is good but its really slow to act. It's really boring for me.

Full str with enough dexterity to get dualwield talents with Warrior-Berserker.Is excellent if you ask me.With full str and some defense enchantments + berserker damage reduction makes you great frontline dps+tank you don't getting much hit as physically because of dexterity.

Also dualwield aoe talent is very fast to act and great dps.

But you asked only one handed + shield or two handed,so two handed wins for damage can be tank with high str,str gives some psyhical resillient also. What is the better weapon type for Dragon Age Origins: one-handed and shield or two handed weapons?
If you want to be a damage dealer use two weapons. Once you get your level and dex high enough you can wield two full sized swords, you will basically be unstoppable. Defense isn't a big deal since warriors can wear heavy armor and you will kill most enemies so quickly that it won't matter.
Two-Handed weapons will deal out more damage, but that being said, I still did a fair amount of damage with a One-Handed weapon and a shield. I would grab one of each weapon and play around with the results, see how you like each play style.

  • Dragon Age Origins (360) can you continue after finishing the main story?

I have just completed Dragon Age Origins, and noticed that you can not travel to any areas after completion... only to the DLC areas, I was wondering if there is any way to continue on with the game as the same character. Also, can you continue and go to any area if you purchase the DLC?

ThanksDragon Age Origins (360) can you continue after finishing the main story?
Once you've completed the game to the epilogue, it's done for good. You either need to start a new character, or re-load a save from before you finished the game. But, in March there will be an expansion that will let you continue your old characters where you left off after the end of the game.

What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?

I plan to focus on my strength more than any other attribute. I want to be able to do a good amount of damage, but be able to defend myself? I will probably equip my character with the best armor and massive armor. Which way of handling weapons should I choose? What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
There's no one best way.Choose a play style and customize your stats for it.

Don't focus solely on strength. Remember that strength is the deciding factor in what kind of damage you do when you connect with a target, but dexterity determines how often you will actually connect sucessfully. You can have the best strength and still not hit for diddly, cause you won't be able to land any blows without dexterity.

Also remember that by wearing massive armor, you will draw more agression than heavy armor.

That aside, pick your play style - Tanking is often sword and shield, and those talents lend themselves to knockdowns, resisting knockdowns and drawing aggro from the party.

If you just like pure damage, go with dual wield, but dual wield requires very high dexterity to be effective. As a rogue, I went dual wield, used medium or light armor and had a defense rating second only to Alistair who was the sword/shield tank. In the rogue class however, you deal with high dexterity and/or cunning and only put as many points into strength as you need to wear the armor you want. I still did the highest amount of damage, and while I could dodge a lot of heat, Alistair's job as tank was to take the heat off me.

Unless you are doing a play through where you make as little possible use of your party as you can, don't ignore your party and the roles they play. If you choose to be a damage dealer, let your tank handle the aggro in battle.

If you choose to be the tank, set Alistair up to dual wield as a fighter. It seems a bit of a waste though since he comes with the start of the sword shield trees. What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
if you're wearing massive armor already, which is for highest amount of defense you can have in an armor set, then I would suggest you either do two handed or sword/shield. dual wield are usually seen on rogues but it's all about personal preferences. if you're going to be high strength you might as well do two handed, the attacks will be slower but very powerful if you get the right two handed weaponWhat is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
In Dragon Age, it all depends on what your play style is. What I usually do is use the dual weapons. A long sword and a dagger, but that may not work for you. Just gotta experiment a bit.

"The Warden's Choices If the warden parley's with the Lady of the Forest she will make the Warden aware that the curse began with Zathrian, when he cursed human settlers who murdered his son and raped his daughter. The current werewolves are not all the same werewolves who were originally cursed. Many are but poor souls who wandered into the forest and were caught up in it. The Lady of the Forest asks that the Warden bring Zathrian to the chamber so they may talk.

[edit] Kill The ElvesWith a high enough persuasion* the Lady of the Forest can be convinced that the best course of action is to kill all the elves. Killing the elves and siding with the werewolves results in negative approval from many of the companions including those who may not yet have been recruited. Any character with a high moral ground will not approve of this choice. Morrigan and Shale, however, think it's a wonderful idea. With the elves dead the werewolves will agree to fight for the Warden and march with them against the darkspawn. All other resolutions result in the elves fighting for the Warden.

Persuasion is not enough with Coercion 1.

We just picked up the game today. We had it preordered. We entered the code to redeme it, and downloaded it. The games shows it's been downloaded. My question is do you have to do somethign special to recive it? Do you have to be hooked up to xbox live in order for it to show up?Where do you find the blodo dragon armor in Dragons Age Origins?
The first piece of the armor (the chest plate/greaves combo) should appear in your inventory automatically assuming that the download activates correctly, and you downloaded it on the system that you play on. The remaining pieces of the armor should be available from a merchant in your party camp, once you leave the town of Lothering, the first town you arrive at after the battle with the Darkspawn at the ruined fortress of Ostagar (might be spelling the name wrong, but you should get the idea). You don't have to play online for it to activate,I personally know this because I can play the game offline and still keep the armor and have it activate.

If there is any real difference it would only be the maker of the guide. Brady games usually write the strategy guides for games, so anything by them would be good.

What is so cool about Dragon Age Origins?

I just want to know why Dragon Age Origins is so cool and amazon, before anybody could say look it up on google I just want to hear the answer you put down first. What is so cool about Dragon Age Origins?
Dubbed the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate is certainly an easy way to heap the pressure and expectations surrounding BioWare's Dragon Age: Origin. Striking out on their own without the comfort of a Dungeons %26amp; Dragons ruleset this time around, Dragon Age begins with the origin of each of the six different character combinations featured in the game, which serves as a prelude as to how the player sees the world and how the world sees the player.

TVG sat down with lead designer Mike Laidlaw to discover more about the game.

Dragon Age: Origins is the spiritual successor to other BioWare titles?

Yes, that's absolutely correct, Baldur's Gate 1 and Baldur's Gate 2, and to a lesser extent Neverwinter Nights as well. But when we think about the Baldur's Gate series... Origins is really a double-entendre, it's kind of the origins of BioWare. What is so cool about Dragon Age Origins?
Up until the late 2000's, scientists were baffled as to the origins of Dragon Age Origins. Years of debate have so far produced no results or further insight. Some say it came from the Netherlands. Some even proclaim it is not of this world. It was only until, in late 2009, on a obscure social networking site called yahoo answers, did a young member declare that it was so Amazon, and the world was at peace.

What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?

I know, sounds like a silly question. It's similar to one I had a few weeks ago about Mass Effect 2.

Is Dragon Age: Origins similar to Mass Effect 2 in the sense that you are told where to do missions etc. or is it more like Oblivion and Fallout where you're thrust into an open world with no idea what to do?What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
It pretty much tells you what to do, just not in what order to do it XD so it can be confusing if you don't know where your going, though you can just look it up online and it will tell you where to go.

:D if you do get it! Heres a trick to level up all the way ~%26lt;3 , when your first mission (don't worry i wont go too far into detail so its not a spoiler) but for your first mission at the beginning at the camp, just get the blood, (you'll find out) and once you just get the blood go back and talk to the guy and he'll give you the exp and tell you to go get the scrolls, but you can just talk to him over and over till your leveled all the way up! XD sure some things can still kill you very easily but its nice if you get lost so you wont die as fast :)
It's sort of a mixture really, it's created by the same people as Mass Effect (BioWare) so you'll find a lot of similarities within the two games.

Personally I think it's a lot more open world than Mass Effect; you develop your character traits a lot more and the storyline isn't as linear. Also as you can choose the sort of character you are, there is hours of gameplay available and a different story each time depending on choices you make.

If you haven't bought it already then it's definately worth the look. What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
The gameplay is more like World Of Warcraft in the fighting style aspects of it. (You pick a target, hit attack, and every so often your character will attack.) But it has a RTS feel in the sense you can switch between all of your party members then tell them what to do.

The game tells you where to go and if you play through all the quests and side quests in the game you'll get around 50+ hrs in it.

    Pros:

    1) Its a really fun game and has a great story.

    2)Classic RPG style

3)Multiple introductions actually add to your characters story

    Cons:

1)When the game ends it literally ends (unless you buy downladable content)

2)Every enemy you kill you'll never be able to fight again in that character profile

3)You'll end the game being lvl 20 something

Good game for $30 but if you're getting it I'd get the one with extra content because beating the game and working on your character for so long to just have it all end is dissapointing.
It goes back to the origins of BioWare RPGs. On PC and Mac the gameplay is similar to Baldur's Gate and some MMORPG's. You have an action bar with skills and you click on them to use them. You can pause the game and zoom out for a strategic overview.

The structure is very similar to other BioWare games. It's not open ended like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3. Instead you have a map screen and click where you want to go. Combat is not like Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls. Your main quest is very straightforward so there's no getting lost. What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
It's similar to Mass Effect (ME) but more so to Bioware's previous game, Knights of the Old Republic. You're told to do main missions (in any order you wish) and you can pick up a number of side missions on the way. It's not nearly as open world as Oblivion or Fallout where you can walk for hours in one direction but there are still quite a few places to explore.

I heartily recommend it, all the same.
More like Mass Effect series, definitely.

But be warned; this game is not only long, but has repulsive, TERRIBLE gameplay! The story is cool, for the most part, but I lost a bit of my soul going through this lame adventure. Just look up dialogues on youtube and save yourself the torture.

  • What is the best race/class to be in Dragon Age : Origins?

Im getting Dragon Age, and i wanted to know the best class to be. Which is the best combo?

Human, Elf, Dwarf; Mage, Rogue, Warrior(or w/e).

ThanksWhat is the best race/class to be in Dragon Age : Origins?
There's really no best. Your characters race and sex will determine the opening sequence and influence your interactions with other characters. There's no way to get the best of all worlds here. No race will have universally positive interaction. There will always be someone with a bone to pick.

As far as class goes, if it's your first time through, and you're inexperienced with this type of game, I recommend going with the warrior class. It'll let you beat down enemies without having to juggle a ton of special skills and combat tactics. This doesn't mean that the other classes are worse than they warrior, but the player may have to take more time to learn how to use them effectively.

However, the most important thing is that you're happy with your choice. It's a game and, as such, is meant to be enjoyed. If you don't want to make your character a warrior, don't. It's better to spend a little while learning how to use a character you enjoy than it is to put up with one you don't just to breeze through combat. What is the best race/class to be in Dragon Age : Origins?
IMO the one with the best "origin" story is a dwarf noble. But im finicky on how my heroic warden looks, so play as human warrior. and for me, i think mages are boring, and rogues are boring. warriors have massive armor which looks cool. most of the light armor and cloth armor looks lame. there are also not a lot of mage weapons and armor. depends on what you want to be. i like 2h warrior. second DW warrior if I must. if its your first run though, play as a warrior, you wont have any specializations like reaver, arcane warrior or assassin unlocked anyways.

In Dragon Age Origins; is it beneficial to be a duelist specialization with archery talents?

I want to make a duelist character from a dalish elf, and to make most my talents in the archery branches, will this be beneficial? or are the duelist talents only effective with melee weapons? In Dragon Age Origins; is it beneficial to be a duelist specialization with archery talents?
If you're planning on switching back and forth from bow/arrows to swords then having both archery talents and duelist talents would be good though you wont be able to master either one. If you want to just be an archer then I would suggest getting ranger specialization then you can summon an animal to fight along side you which helps to keep bad guys from attacking you directly. If you want to just be a melee fighter then you shouldn't really be getting any of the archery talents at all it would just be a waste. In Dragon Age Origins; is it beneficial to be a duelist specialization with archery talents?

Duelist spec is melee only, so Archery wouldn't benefit from it.

Is the gameplay in Dragon Age: Origins (PC) comparable to Guild Wars?

I've been looking into Dragon Age: Origins for the PC lately. It's gameplay looks somewhat familiar to Guild Wars with the skills and everything. Is this true?Is the gameplay in Dragon Age: Origins (PC) comparable to Guild Wars?
Game play and skills in Dragon Age: Origins is not similar to GW. You cannot buy new skills, you learn them as you level up. You can stop the battles to set up your companions to attack in certain ways. There are tactics that you can set up for your companions as well, to make them perform certain actions or take potions, use items, etc, when they encounter enemies or their health/mana gets low. There is also no Multiplayer in DA:O, it is a single player game onlyIs the gameplay in Dragon Age: Origins (PC) comparable to Guild Wars?
I would suggest either World of Warcraft when cataclysm comes out or Lord of the Rings Online.

You could have gotten Leliana back in Lothering, but at the point of the game that you're at it seems that Lothering is overrun with Darkspawn and Leliana is long dead. Those are the two rouges you get in the game, so you can't get any more.

What is the best sword and shield combination in Dragon Age Origins?

What is the best sword and the best shield you can equip to your character for a great sword and shield combo? What is the best sword and shield combination in Dragon Age Origins?
There isn't necessarily a "best" sword or shield, as some have effects that work better in certain circumstances than others. However, my favorite sword is BLIGHTBLOOD, which you acquire after completing the Darkspawn Chronicles (downloadable content). The sword has these stats: 11.20 damage, 1.0 str modifier, 3.20% crit, 4.00 armor pen., 3 runes; specials: +3% melee critical chance, +2 attack, +10% backstab/critical damage, poison: venom. The damage is already high. Coupled with +6.2% critical chance and 3 rune slots adds for one nasty sword. Other swords you might want to consider are Maric's Blade, Topsider's Honor, and Starfang (longsword). For a shield, Fade wall is pretty kick butt. 6 defense, 9 missile deflection, 1.00 str. modifier, 5.63 fatigue; specials: +3 defense, +20% healing effects!, +1/+2 stamina regen in combat, +25 stamina. The shield is awesome, but I hear there is a bug that makes the healing effect not work. I'm not sure if this has been corrected. Nevertheless its still a nice shield. In any case, if you want this shield, it occasionally drops from Gaxkang's body at the end of Unbound side quest.

How do I use my first specialization point in Dragon Age Origins?

My character just leveled up to level 7 and I have a single specialization point. The problem is when I click on the specialization box nothing happens. Do I need to talk to someone or buy something to select a specialization? How do I use my first specialization point in Dragon Age Origins?
To spend your specialization points you must first unlock the specialization. Once you unlock it however, you will always have it (even on different accounts). You can buy the Ranger book from Bodahn. So you can keep it for your later accounts. You can learn the templar specialization from Allistar is he likes you enough, The shapeshifter from Morrigan (even though it is a COMPLETE waste), The berserker from Oghren, and the assassin from Zevahran. You have to buy the Spirit Healer from the store in Denerim, you can get the Champion later on in the game (I won't spoil it) just suffice to know it will be near the end. You can get the reaver from a sidequest in the Urn of the Sacred ashes (another spoiler so I won't say). And you can get the Duelist from A pirate in the Pearl in Denerim. You can get the Arcane Warrior from a little bottle with a spirit in it during your Elf quest. The other ones I have forgoten, but that covers most of them

Although, If you really want to know I will give you this website, It is really nice and teaches you EVERYthing about the game you need to know almost.

Is dragon age origins a good game?

I have always been into rpgs. But I have never found one that I liked until fable 2. It was an awesome game, but its way too short. Only like 12 hours of story mode. But i hear dragon age origins has somewhere around 100 hours.

    How is this game?

    How big is the world?

Does it have online or co-op?Is dragon age origins a good game?
    The game is okay.

    The world is pretty big.

There is no online or co-op.
Took me roughly 60 hours through one storyline (Human Noble). There's 6 storyline "Origins" to play through, and numerous sidequests. You could probably double the time if you raised the combat difficulty too.

It's not the most amazing graphic-wise, but it does the job (think KOTOR with improved textures), and nearly every line of dialogue is voiced.

The world is quite large, but there's no "overworld" exploration. Basically you can choose where you want to go ala Baldur's Gate 2, with chances of random encounters while crossing the world map.

No online or co-op, unless you count the ingame marketplace. You have multiple party members, though. With the amount of strategy needed for higher difficulties, I'd dare to say that multiplayer would hinder the experience.

In my opinion, it's one of the best story experiences available. Is dragon age origins a good game?
the game is great, world is fairly big, and there is no online or co-op but what i dont get is why poeple are taking so long to beat it i did every possible thing you can do in one playthrough in 25 hours on hard, ya the game is long if you play it like 3 times but alot of other rpg's are 50+ hours through one playthugh no matter how fast you go.so if your a slow gamer like every other person but me whos played this then you should get 100 hours out of it.

As far as a level up glitch, I'm not aware of that. I am however aware of the freezing glitch ever since sony released the last system patch. Since then, Bioware has released a patch for the game fixing the problem. Great game, good luck!

How long is dragon age origins?

Also what is the best class to choose at the beginning?

Thanks. How long is dragon age origins?
The warrior class is pretty solid and is good for beginners. The game's length really depends on how many side-quest you do. If you just go straight for the main quest it's about a 12 hour game, if you do everything else it can go up to 60 hours.
Each characters Origin story lasts about an hour each so playing each one is a different story that ties into the main story so right there is about 6 hours, maybe more if you take your time with it. Then the game itself since it has 3 classes (warrior, rogue and mage) and all 3 play completely different the game can last you a very long time. I started as a rogue and I beleive I logged about 50 some hours into it, then I went through and played as a warrior and finally a mage, so I put over 150 hours into the game, not counting all the extra time spent will all the DLC they released for it.

I think the rouge is best, he has the highest DPS of any of the other characters so he's a great starting character, the mage is the most difficult so you should save that for last or if you want a challenge the first you play, you could be the mage. How long is dragon age origins?
Most people go as a warrior but I chose a rogue. The game is actually fairly long. I believe I spent about 19 hours on the Xbox (Keep in mind I was doing all side missions) and got about 3/4 done. Never got around to finishing it though. Definitely a fun game. You can HOWEVER cheat your skills and make your character EXTREMELY op so if you do that the best would be a mage, then a rogue.
pretty decent long game took me a few days and personally i thought that the elf was the best if im thinking the same game the city one???How long is dragon age origins?
at least 12ish hours. More if you play on xbox as controls are not as good. Easiest class is warrior

  • What is the best armor / weapon for a rogue in Dragon age: Origins?

This is my third play through and my warrior and mage both have legendary armor / weapons ( Blood dragon / Legionnaire ) and I would really like for my rogue to have the same, and for weapon I am talking about single handed weapons axes and swords only please I am not a fan of daggers. What is the best armor / weapon for a rogue in Dragon age: Origins?
kill the dragon in the urn of sacred ashes and take the skin to Wade in Denerim and he will make you some really good armor. As for weapons I agree Starfang is best for a single or two handed sword. What is the best armor / weapon for a rogue in Dragon age: Origins?
    Warden Commander armor and Starfang

Dragon Age Origins: Would I have more fun playing thru it b4 or after downloading the DLC?

So I just bought Dragon Age Origins and I'm playing through it as a Warrior going to be a Champion then Paladin. I just finished all the quests in Lothering and I'm at the camp. At this point I started thinking: would I have more fun and save time if I downloaded the Downloadable Content expansion packs before or after I play through the entire campaign (without the expansion packs)?Dragon Age Origins: Would I have more fun playing thru it b4 or after downloading the DLC?
Its all up to you man. I played through once and then replayed it all and it was still just as fun but then again you still have to run through the entire game (even the parts you find boring) just to mix in some new items that will seem like they arent worth it because you already know how everything is supposed to go and its not much of a challenge. its like adding a few new skills to a game that you already know how to beat..... i personally wish i would have restarted right away after getting the dlc since i was only about 1/3 finished. GL and have fun!!!Dragon Age Origins: Would I have more fun playing thru it b4 or after downloading the DLC?
I would get the DLC that applies to Origins now if you plan on buying it anyway. Warden's Keep, The Stone Prisoner, and Return to Ostagar fit nicely in to the main plotline. The rest are separate campaigns and would be best to buy after you finish Origins.

Who are the options for love interest in Dragon Age: Origins.?

In dragon age origins, i know there is at least one option for love interest. I was wondering if there was another as well. Also, i was wondering if these are still available if your character is a girl. Please don't tell me anything besides this, i don't want to ruin the game. Just how many options and their names please :)

Thank You!!!Who are the options for love interest in Dragon Age: Origins.?
For a male character you can engage in romance with Zevran, Leliana or Morrigan.

For a female character your options are Alastair, Zevran or Leliana.

There are "professionals" in the Pearl in Denerim who provide Adult Services.

If you choose the Human Noble origin you can engage in a brief relationship with an Elvish Handmade or a young Noble.

If you choose dwarvish noble you can engage in an encounter with 1 or 2 dwarvish ladies. Both that and the above option don't show anything on screen, its simply implied.

I think that's about everybody you could possibly Sex Up in the game.Who are the options for love interest in Dragon Age: Origins.?
The options are: Alistiar,Morrigan,Zevran,LelIana. Have fun playing the game,I know I did ^^

You can't. You'll take a pinch of Ashes from the Urn, THEN pour the Dragon's Blood in. Kolgrim will allow you to leave with that pinch of Ashes.

  • Dragon Age Origins- What are the best 3 other characters to make up your 4 man team?

Now I use my rogue, Morrigan, Sten, and Allistaire and I'm nearing the gathering of the armies.

I tried shuffling in Leliana and Ogrhen, but this time through I think I accidentally killed Whynn so I don't have her. Also haven't gotten the golem but I don't even know where to find him.Dragon Age Origins- What are the best 3 other characters to make up your 4 man team?
My core team is Myself for DPS (rogue, dual-wielder, Duelist), Alistair for tank (warrior, sword/shield, Templar) and at least one Mage. Wynne in a 'mage killer' spec mana burns enemy casters with one shot kills. She also does healing and glyphs.

If I go dual caster, Morrigan is also present and laying down the heavy AoE. I usually gear her towards frost and Wynne towards stone and Alistair for crit talents on petrified enemies. These three and tactics make for automatic shattering of targets regularly.

But mages throwing elemental AoE spells can pull hate like nobody's business, and sometimes I will swap Morrigan out for Sten as DPS/Off tank (Warrior, two handed sword, Reaver). Sten also has tactics geared to shatter whoever is frozen, so he still works well if I have Morrigan or Wynne. He is also configured to pick up any hate that sneaks away from Alistair and goes after the caster.

I let Alistair's tactics control the battle and my rogue deals damage from behind.

I have little use for Ohgren, Zevran and Leliana. There are a couple of battles that I like to use Shale for, but that's it. Shale is in the Stone Prisoner DLC. If you don't see a mark on your map, she is not available.Dragon Age Origins- What are the best 3 other characters to make up your 4 man team?
Bringing a Mage, Rogue and Warrior is a good mix (at least I think so). Since you're a Rogue, you can choose whatever you like instead of a second rogue. Morrigan, Allistar and Sten are good. There's one ranged caster, one healer/tank, and a heavy hitter.Dragon Age Origins- What are the best 3 other characters to make up your 4 man team?
The way I see it, You need 1 healer, a mage, preferably Wynne. 1 tank, Alistair. 2 DPS, Stens good, and the warden. Also, you are the rogue, for unlocking things and traps.

What is a better party in dragon age origins?

I have myself, wynne as a healer, the elf rogue and either alistair or the dwarf. Not sure which warrior to pick. Help please! What is a better party in dragon age origins?
It depends on what class you are playing. The game is set up to encourage a balanced party of a mage, warrior, and rogue. But I usually avoid using rogues and take Alistair and two mages. Wynne for healing and Morrigan for damage. Alistair is better than Ogrehn because his Templar specialization makes him ideal for killing enemy mages.

Question:: Dragon age origins, just bought, how to change spells formation?

Well i noticed on 360 dragon age origins (which freaking pawns btw!!!!!) and ive had one problem.

I noticed that the first spell pattern can have up to 3 spells, and i press L2 or R2 and the second pattern comes up with 3 more spells, i have to pages of spells.

How do i make them all appear at once, its rather annoying with this formation of switching.Question:: Dragon age origins, just bought, how to change spells formation?
I don't think you can make them all appear on the 'R2' menu - since they are each mapped to a button, and it's not like you have any more buttons.

What you could do is just select your spells through the 'L2' - Spells menu - I think there is a setting that makes the L2 button pause until you hit it again, so I'd set that up, open the spell menu when you want to use something, and then unpause.

Awakening is a small expansion to Origins that takes place shortly after Origins. Origins is the normal game, and you can import your character from Origins into Awakening.

Awakening is just an expansion. You need to buy Origins if you want Awakening to work.

Dragon Age Origins: What is the best character to tackle the game with?

I haven't got the game yet but I will be. I've heard there's a wide variety of customization at the start and I heard it's a long game. I'm just wondering what best class, race and other options to make it easy.Dragon Age Origins: What is the best character to tackle the game with?
As with all RPG's, choosing your class depends mostly on the style of gameplay you prefer. In terms of how powerful each class is, there is an overall balance somewhat, but, at least as far as I've played, the mage class is pretty brutal. However, it becomes apparent that a lot of the mage's abilities are hindered on any difficulty above easy (for the PC version that is, since friendly fire doesn't occur on the console versions of the game). A mage with an arcane warrior/blood mage dual spec is both resilient and damage-dealing, making it a very versatile class.

Just as well, a warrior with dual wield with berserker/templar (champion) specializations works for itself very good.

A rogue with an assassin/duelist specializations slices and dices very well and can effectively crowd control most enemies (except bosses).

In terms of race/class combos, in the end it all depends what physical aspect you prefer and what origin story appeals to you. The differences in bonuses are not so relevant but if you were to go by those I'd say the following work best:

    Warrior/Dwarf

    Rogue/Human

    Mage/Elf

    As general tips:

    Warrior:

    - If you plan on being the tank, max out weapon and shield skills, and punch up a lot of constitution early on, then focus on strength. I recommend Templar/Champion spec.

-If you plan on dual-wielding, it's a little more tricky, as you'll have to crunch some points into dexterity until level 12 when you can use 2 large weapons in each hand (until then you can only use daggers in off hand and their damage depends on depends on dexterity). I recommend Champion/Berserker or Berserker/Reaver.

-Two-handed weapons just need a lot of strength to master, and you can sacrifice some constitution, so long as you don't wear very heavy armor (your enemies tend to be more aggressive toward more heavily armored opponents, something which you should keep in mind if you want to tank as well). Berserker/Reaver is what I recommend.

    Rogue:

-If you specialize in dual-wield and not archery then you need both dexterity and cunning for damage and ability effectiveness respectively. I recommend Duelist/Assassin spec.

-Archery specialization requires much of the same attributes, since cunning also affects armor penetration which is useful for both specs. I recommend Range/Duelist or Ranger/Bard.

    Mage:

Your main attributes will be magic and willpower so try and maintain a balance between them. In terms of which tree of skills to choose, I found a mix between Primal and Entropy to be a good mix between damage and resilience. Also, spend one point in the heal ability since it will be worth a bunch.

Possible combinations depend on your play style so I'll list them with a slight description

Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer (endurance given by both powerful heals and the ability to wear heavy armor)

Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage (versatile combo, both resilient and higly damaging through the Blood Wound Ability.

Hope this helps and I hope you enjoy Dragon Age as much as I did :)

Yes; your main character will be able to learn two specializations over the course of the game. One at level 7, and another at level 14. However, no character will be able to learn more than two specializations during the game.Dragon Age: Origins, can I become an arcane warrior even though I am a blood mage?
of course you can! its actually an achievment... anyways the same way you would become a arcan warrior without your blood magic should still be the same. im not sure how to become one (im a blood mage and shape shifter) butim sure you know how to! good luckDragon Age: Origins, can I become an arcane warrior even though I am a blood mage?
yes, eventually you will have two points (total) to spend in secondary classes.

I am wondering if its a good choice to get Dragon age origins becuase i have played with the 2nd game and it was okay and people say origins is all out better so i am wondering if origins features hack and slash gameplay or a different and more RPG influence.. and hows the graphics for DAO? and if DAO is good enough for the PS3 because thats the console im usingHow does the combat of dragon age origins fare with dragon age II?
DA2 has better combat, there is no question. Origins combat is going to feel slow and awkward in comparison. It's not unbearable, but you probalby won't enjoy it as much as DA2.

Graphics are a matter of taste. I think people overall look much better in DA2, especially female characters. The races are also much more distinct. But I do think that origins had better environments and more variety.

The biggest reason to go back and play origins is the story. It feels much deeper than DA2 and your choices have more influence.

The Survivalist skill will show enemies near you that are around your level or a bit higher, but when you engage combat with them you can tell which ones are definitely higher than you by the color of their name over their heads; I think orange or red meaning they're a bit tougher than normal so they won't go down as easy as you think

If she brings Alistair with her in her party to fight the archdemon, he will insist on killing the demon himself and die instead. She should leave him at the gate when she forms her final party if she wants him to live. The other option is to convince Alistair to sleep with Morrigan as part of a ritual she will propose. In that case, you will both survive.

Well there are multiple races (elf, human, dwarf) and you pick a class and an origin (where you come from) then you play a unique starting quest that sets the tone for how people and party members view you and respond to you, you find out early on that your main goal is to kill a giant dragon called the archdemon with a group called the Grey Wardens....it really is just a classic rpg

It took me about 74 hours to go through the whole game, plus the expansions that are within the standard game (Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner, and Return to Ostagar), plus another couple of hours for each of the other add-ons (Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt). How long exactly in total is Dragon Age: Origins with all the DLC?
50 or 60 so hours.......hell even more if you play through it again, it is fun being different races, and making different decisions.

Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?

ok i cant decide which one to get, i like rpgs and fps games. i liked fallout, assassins creed 1, knights of the old republic, and a bunch of other games like that. i have a few friends who will play borderlands with me but idk. im not sure if i should buy assassins creed 2 because its kinda short and the price will most likely drop fast. and a lot of people says dragon age is bad on the 360. any opinions on what to buy?Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?
If you like RPG's, I'd definitely recommend you Dragon Age: Origins. I don't know who told you that the Xbox360 version is bad, because it definitely isn't. Only the graphics are really bad, so if you're someone who really cares about graphics I'd recommend you Assassin's Creed II.

Borderlands is, in my opinion, more of a shoot-'em-up with an environment that strongly reminds me of Fallout 3. The game is full with basic quests and it basically comes down on one thing; kill everything that moves. Sure, it's fun, especially with more players (but since you have only a few friends who'd play it with you..) but I don't think it's fun on a long-term. (by the way, if you have friends who own the game. Why not lend it or play it there some day?Judge for yourself!)

Dragon Age: Origins is a typical Bioware RPG. It has a lot of depth and it's all about making choices. You can chose who to be, how to encounter situations and even have a relationship with some of your characters. The graphics and animations of the 360 version suck as I said before, but it's the gameplay that does it. Plus, it's a very long game. It doesn't have a single player though.

Assassin's Creed II is so much better IMO then the first part. The graphics are beautiful and you finally get a link with the main character. The basic missions such as "save the citizens" and "flags races" are still there, but not necessary anymore and there are more of those missions then before. If you liked part one, which you said you did, I'm pretty sure you'll like this one as well.

Personally, I didn't think it was that short. But then again, I did a lot of side-quests and didn't rush through the main-quest. The game could have so much more depth then it has now though, but it's not really disturbing.
Tough choices, I haven't played assassins creed 2 yet, but I enjoy both of those games. If you want to sit down for awhile and really get into the game, get dragon age. If you want a fast paced action game you can put down and pick up whenever you want, go for Borderlands.Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?
You will ABSOLUTELY FALL IN LOVE WITH DRAGON AGE ORIGINS!!! and its great on the 360, Its much more fun on it. Obviously im biased, do what you want, but DA will have you hooked and the story is like you are watching an amazing movie but yet you control the decisions which of course, have consequences.
Dragon age gets boring after a while.

    Borderlands is alright.

I own Assassins Creed 2, and it is a GIFT FROM GOD.

It doesn't really get boring after you beat the game, because then you get to do side quests.

In AC2, there are 100 story-mode quests, and 100 side quests, which about 25 different mission types.

Its worth the buy.Should I get dragon age: origins or borderlands or assassins creed 2?
    dragon age is longer

    borderlands is better

assassins creed is out of this world
To be honest I'd pick Borderlands because of the online experience
    AC2
A really tough choice man. Also, you have awesome taste in games. Now, lets break down the choices.

Assassin's Creed 2: An amazing game. At least 3 times better then the original. If you liked AC1 then you will ADORE AC2. It has all the best of AC1 with very little of the bad. I beat the whole thing in about a week but that was me playing for close to 10 or more hours a day (how my Box hasn't red-ringed is beyond me). Besides some slight issues (free running can be frustrating, some missions have annoying try-die-repeat style to them and no way to quickly travel from one end of a city to another) I honestly consider a sleeper hit and Game of the Year for 2009.

Borderlands: I have yet to play this but all my friends love it even though a few feel it gets really old after so many hours. Has a very Fallout quality to it and the game does look insanly beautiful with the cel-shaded graphics.

Dragon Age Origins: Yes, this game was built from the ground up to run on a PC. No, the 360 version does not suck. Just don't compare it to the PC version. Bioware are masters of the RPG and this is NO exception. While I do feel that the individual opening origin stories could use abit more variety (why can't I be a Human Commoner? or an Elven Noble?) the game is amazing. The battle system isn't perfect but the added feature of regenerating health, mana and stamina after each battle make for some tense fights instead of endless slogs of lowly grunts chipping away at your health till the big mother-lover comes out. Plus, many play throughs will clock in at over 70 hours. Do the math and you have a game that I do not think anyone will see 100% of.

In short, AC2 is amazing and worthy of a buy once the price drops, Borderlands seems like a very fun rental and DRO is a game that will keep you busy till the holiday season of 2012.

Download what's called a no-cd crack. But only do this if you have a legal copy of the game. Otherwise it is illegal

How far am I into Dragon Age: Origins?

I'm playing Dragon Age: Origins and I am wondering how far into the game I am and how much I have left. I did the Grey Warden treaties quests and I just "rescued" the queen from the arl's estate. Now I'm suppose to go talk to Arl Eamon. So how far am I and how much do I have left? Thanks! How far am I into Dragon Age: Origins?
A decent amount left. Just go with it.

Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?

I really love all of Bioware's games and many RPG's, but I did not really hear of Dragon Age when it came out. I want to play the original and the sequel but I'd rather not spend too much money. If it was possible, I would just play the sequel if I could understand it. Please help and thank you.Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?
Dragon Age 2, ironically, takes place hundreds of years BEFORE Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Awakening. So, to answer, you do not need to play DA:O to understand DA2. You can, if you want, go to the Dragon Age wiki and catch up on the DA:O storyline to understand the basic idea.

I would still recommend buying Dragon Age: Origins, as it is one of the best Fantasy RPG games ever made.

I cannot download content on Dragon Age Origins?

I have entered two redeem codes (Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor) in my online bioware account.

I then logged in through Dragon Age with the same email and password, but when I go to "Downloadable content" tab, nothing is there.

I know I have inserted the codes correctly, since I can see them when I click on "Your registered content" in my bioware account. How the heck do I download the files? Have I done sth wrong?I cannot download content on Dragon Age Origins?

Dragon Age Origins: Do I need to start with #1?

With the upcoming release of Dragon Age Origins 2 I want to buy it. But I want to know if I should play the first Dragon Age first. Does it follow the same story or is it completely new plot? Thanks to all you fellow nerds who answer my question :)Dragon Age Origins: Do I need to start with #1?
well they are different stories. But i think 2 starts off during Origins. You also meet a lot of people from the first game i think. But im sure its a lot different. I would play 1 just for story purposes but if you planning on beating it before 2 comes out you will have to play for like 2 days straightDragon Age Origins: Do I need to start with #1?
You don't have to play dragon age origins to get dragon age 2. It will not affect dragon age 2. So there is no need to play it. But some events that were in dragon age origins will be seen from a different angle in dragon age 2.

Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?

I just finished Dragon Age: Origins with most of the DLC's but im getting tired of the multiple controlled party members but i love the skill tree based concept etc

It would be nice if people who has actually played the games answer and just doesnt google they have no idea about.Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?
The Witcher (Enhanced version) was probably the other big recent role player game, and is more recent than things like Baldur's Gate.

Mass Effect was made by the same people as Dragon Age (Bioware), and has generally positive reviews, too. It's more a space thing though, and its sequel is actually due out in just a couple months.Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?
You could get Baldur's Gate (1 or 2). In fact, DA is considered the "spiritual sequel" to BG 2.

Both of these games do however require you to control multiple party-members. But ,I don't know how much you care, as they are 10 years old they do have quite crappy graphics compared to modern games. No problem in my eyes though. Oh, and another great game without control of multiple characters -%26gt; Diablo II. Great game with this skill tree you talk of, maybe not in the same fashion, but still...

What kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?

I don't know if I would like it. I saw the trailer for it where there killing this giant dragon and it looked badass but Is this game fun? What kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?
Ya his game is like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights or some of the old western RPG games. It is not an action game it is an RPG with a deep combat system with heavy story elements. Combat is in real time but extremely tactical, and the player autoattacks while using special moves designed for the class that he picked. I forgot the name of each class, but classes can specialize in different roles pertaining to the class for example: A mage can be a shape shifter, a pure offensive caster, or a healing support mage. The game is very good, and the story will have its twists and turns. It IS a hard game so beware :PWhat kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?
The game is absolutely amazing. It's and RPG (Role-Playing Game). And to say that it's called "Dragon Age" There are only 3 main, Dragons that are fully grown. Of course there are some smaller ones, like baby ones and adolescent. But if you like RPGs then you'll love Dragon Age.What kind of game is Dragon Age Origins?
