well you can add that specialization to that mage or it doesn't matter which character as long as be a mage but it's only valid for one gameplay when you want to make another character and start a new game play then you need to do that from the beginning again but unlocked specialization is still available once you got it all you have to do is just select the specialization powers that's the only thing restart.In dragon age origins if i unlock a specialization in one character does it go to another?
Yes, you only need to unlock a specialization once and you can use it for any future characters.
